Depression Therapy Services Fort Myers

Sadness and depression are not the same thing. Most of us will experience sadness more than once in our lifetime. Sadness is a normal human emotion to disappointing life events, failing an exam, losing a job, not getting a job, losing someone close to us, divorce, having a child leave home. Sadness usually passes with time.

Depression on the other hand, is more chronic and is not necessarily connected to a disappointing life event. Depression feels overwhelming and impacts many areas of a person’s life. It usually does not pass with time. Depression can make it difficult to get through the day.
